The Rocking M Ranch is just about 1½ hours from the Ft. Worth / Dallas Metroplex and is located in Jack County, just outside Jacksboro, Texas. This is the Crosstimbers Region of Texas, which is loaded with trees, hills, and small mountains. The terrain is a mix of mountains, valleys, vistas, and flats with a mix of Oak and Mesquite trees. Hunters not only experience trophy animals but some very beautiful scenery and breathtaking Texas sized sunsets. | |
| All guests stay in very nice accommodations including a brand new log cabin with rustic appeal and hunting décor, but all of the modern amenities expected by our hunting guests. Warm showers, great comfortable beds, and some of the best home cooked meals around. Many over-night hunting guests experience steaks or BBQ chicken grilled outside on a large outdoor cooker with all the extra fixins. Most evenings after a long successful day of hunting and a great dinner end in a big huge outdoor fire by our custom rock fire pit prior to turning in for the day. All hunting guests are encouraged to bring their rod-n-reels for some mid-day fishing for catfish in one of 5 ponds. It’s a great change of pace during the fall to early winter season. All of our hunts are 1 on 1 professionally guided hunts. Most hunts are done from dry, weather proof, elevated, heated tower stands over food plots. Occasionally, if the situation permits itself we do very careful and calculated stalk and walk hunts on the ground. Safety is our #1 priority at the Rocking M Ranch. We do everything in our power to ensure everyone’s safety. Guns are never loaded or unloaded in camp or in vehicles. Also, alcohol is only permitted if the hunting is completely over for the day and we are safely back in camp. The Ranch consists of approx. 8 elevated blinds and 2 very large wheat fields that provide an excellent source of vegetation for the animals during the tough winter season. Our Ranch is fortunate enough to provide a year-round supplemental protein-feeding program. Our animals receive 16 – 18% protein through bulk gravity 800 lb. feeders located throughout the ranch. All of our hunters get treated very nice from the minute they arrive at the ranch until the minute they leave the ranch. Safety and satisfaction will always remain our number one priority and goal at the Rocking M Ranch. All harvested animals are either videoed or photographed with hunter, gutted, skinned, caped, and ready for the taxidermist. Taxidermists are available and convenient if hunters choose to use our recommendation. We can also recommend a great place to have your meat processing done for some excellent choices to prepare your harvested game. Every hunter is taken to and from their hunting blind by a new 2 seater, 4 passenger Kawasaki Mule 4 x 4, All Terrain Hunting Vehicle. It’s large enough for hunter, guide, supplies, backpacks, and harvested animals. The Ranch can accommodate everything from a single hunter up to a small corporate outing. One of our true specialties is father/son, husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend or business corporate reward or gift for a special employee. The Rocking M Ranch is unique in that we offer a wide range of animals from Native Whitetail, to Rocky Mountain Elk, to exotics from all over the world including Axis, Blackbuck Antelope, Fallow, Sika, and Red Stag. Most hunters come to hunt and harvest an animal but leave seeing, enjoying, and photographing other awesome trophy animals from all over the U.S. and the World. One recent hunter’s testimony was he had hunted for many years and all over the U.S. and Texas, but never had he seen so many awesome animals on one Ranch at one time. We get that testimony quite frequently after hunters have visited the Rocking M Ranch. Another recent hunter and his wife returned from a lengthy hunting trip in Alaska and upon leaving Rocking M Ranch after a successful long weekend hunt said they had more fun at our ranch than they did in Alaska after spending over $25,000 and being unsuccessful. |
| | The Rocking M Ranch got its name over 10 yrs ago when Van and Melissa Miller bought the Ranch. The owner Van Miller wanted a unique name and brand to identify his ranch and put on a ranch header overhead sign at the ranch entrance. Well, the rest is history, M for Miller and so it became the Rocking M Ranch. The Ranch has been high-fenced now for 6 years. It has only been commercially hunted since 2006. The management program in place was set up to always produce trophy animals year, after year, after year. If you want to book a once-in-a-lifetime hunt on the Rocking M Ranch it’s simple.
